New this year to the Ski & Snowboard Expo will be an indoor ski slope in Sears court for kids to learn and try out the sport of skiing.

The following special events are on the schedule at the Mall Of America? in Bloomington, Minnesota for the week of October 17,?2011:???

Tuesday, October 18

1) Toddler Tuesdays: Baby Loves Disco; 10 a.m. ? 1 p.m.; Rotunda
The Baby Loves Disco Super Hero Tour is making a stop at Mall of America^? for Toddler Tuesdays^?.

The little ones will get to boogie down and participate in activities like sock puppets, tattoos, mini manicures and more. H&M will also be providing swag bags including a coupon? for 25 percent off that will give access to all the new fall fashions in the H&M kids department.

2) Sounds of Blackness CD Release; 6 ? 8 p.m.; Rotunda

Since January 1971, the Grammy Award winning Sounds of Blackness have consistently performed and recorded the music, culture and history of African Americans to audiences around the world. Guests are invited to join the group for a performance to celebrate their CD release and 40th anniversary. The event will support Sabathani Community Center.

Wednesday, October 19

Vikings Country Radio Show; Every Wednesday; 6:30 ? 7 p.m.; Sky Deck Sports Grille and Lanes (Level 4, East)
Join KFAN and Muss from K102 for Vikings Country every Wednesday at Sky Deck Grille and Lanes. This week, Muss will host Vikings defensive end, Jared Allen. Guests can enjoy happy hour deals from 4 ? 6 p.m.

Friday, October 21

1) Ski & Snowboard Expo; Through Sunday, October 23

Guests are invited to kick off the ski and snowboard season by checking out the newest ski and snowboard gear along with ski resort deals at the Minnesota Ski & Snowboard Expo. The event will include specials on lift tickets and season passes from local, regional and Western ski areas. New this year to the expo will be an indoor ski slope in Sears court for kids to learn and try out the sport of skiing. Guests can also experience and test their balance on a ?slackline? and view Warren Miller Classic Ski Films in a special screening at Theatres at Mall of America^?.

2) Big Red Event; Sky Deck Sports Grille and Lanes (Level 4, East); 6 p.m. ? Midnight
To celebrate the match-up between the Big Ten network?s Minnesota Gophers and the Nebraska Huskers at TCF Stadium, Mall of America will host the Big Red Event at Sky Deck Sports Grille and Lanes. Nebraska fans are invited to join in the festivities which will include an appearance by Mick Tinglehoff, performances by the Nebraska Alumni Pep Band, a Big Red evening buffet and trivia to win tickets to the game on Saturday, October 22.

3) Blackout at Nickelodeon Universe^?; Friday?s and Saturday?s through October 22

Nickelodeon Universe
Guests are invited to experience the excitement of Nickelodeon Universe after dark. They will be thrilled on the rides while enjoying black lighting, fog and glow in the dark bubbles.
